Many of our slalom customers have asked us why PerfectPass can no longer set slalom speeds in one mph increments. The simple answer is that the official times are now all metric which is why some speeds are odd values, such as 32.3, 30.4 etc. This causes many challenges and confusion to add other speeds to the menu.
The good news is that it is easy to run those in-between speeds by simply moving to “Tournament Mode”. In this mode RPM adjust is on the main screen so you can remove or add rpm to a pass in increments far more accurately than just by one mph.
Example: You are working on a difficult line length at 34.2 mph. You could slow this speed by one mph by simply entering – 100 rpm on the main screen. If the skier makes this pass and wants to move up a little faster, change the value to – 50 which equates to about .5 mph. (The rule of thumb is 100 rpm is one mph)
In the above example where rpm adjust was set at – 100 to provide 1 mph slow, the times will appear as below. Each one mph speed change will result in a .50 second change. In this example, the full segment time was 17.45 seconds, .50 slow.

In this mode, you can run the boat at virtually any speed you wish with great accuracy. |
