Driving Competitive Skiers with 2006 DBW Engines

January 2006

The following questions have recently been fielded by PerfectPass from competitive skiers.

Q. In jump, the engine does not seem to respond enough to the switch.
A. After the system engages, you must advance the throttle handle forward to give the system room to throttle up, just as you did with the older PerfectPass system. (For 200+ foot jumpers, the handle should be moved to full open position.)

Q. On the new Display, how can I confirm if the switch has been activated? and if more throttle is required.
A. Just like last year’s gauge, the “_” will appear and move up & down to confirm switch operation. Also, the “#” sign will appear if the system requires more manual throttle to maintain control. Both of these are found in the upper right corner of Display where the Menu Arrow icon lives.

Q.On my new 2006 Nautique, in trick mode the actual speed of the boat exceeds the set speed by more than it should before settling in.
A. Go to “CS” in the Control Settings page and lower CS value. (The lower the value, the more immediate the engagement)

Q.When using the new Display, if I make a speed or skier weight change, do I have to menu back to the top of screen every time? This results in a lot of button presses.
A. No, no matter where the screen is highlighted you can simply throttle up and PerfectPass will engage. Another tip, if the only change in-between skiers is the skier weight, simply press & hold Menu Key.
